Caseificio San Leonardo was founded in 1988 thanks to the brainchild of Mario La Marca, who established his company in accordance with ancient local tradition, in the area of Salerno and the surrounding province, in which mozzarella cheese and dairy products have always been a synonym of quality and excellence. The second generation of the family, represented by Giacomo La Marca assisted by his brothers Luca and Mauro, following the footsteps of Mario La Marca and laying the foundations for penetration into international markets, aiming at the utmost quality of its products alongside an extensive distribution network.
Today, Caseificio San Leonardo is a consolidated enterprise. It is the only dairy production plant within the boundaries of the city of Salerno that operates in accordance with ancient transformation techniques and, thanks to the use of modern, certified and efficient technologies that have optimised the production process, brings a wide range of dairy products 100% Made in Salerno to the table.
Milk comes only and exclusively from livestock carefully selected among those in the province of Salerno and it arrives, extremely fresh, at the production plant situated in via San Leonardo, where it is processed by expert dairymen in order to give life, every day, to the work of art, or rather the #BuonaMozzarellaDiSalerno (#DeliciousMozzarellaCheesefromSalerno).
The daily-stocked sales outlets provide a wide range of fresh products: from mozzarella cheese, the “white gold” of the province of Salerno, to yogurt and matured cheese.
In addition to marketing products bearing the San Leonardo brand, the Dairy, these are distributed to a series of catering enterprises localised throughout the entire national territory. The new challenge, is to increase import activities, promoting Made in Salerno products of excellence on international markets.
